INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 22, 2016) – A man was walking toward a gas station when someone asked him for cash—and then punched him during an attempted robbery.

The incident happened as the victim was walking to the Phillips 66 at 4060 N. High School Rd. A man asked him for $50; the victim told him he didn’t have it. The suspect told him it “was his block” and said “if he was going to be on his block, he would have to pay up.” It happened on Feb. 1, 2016.

The suspect then punched the man seven to ten times, according to police. The suspect didn’t steal anything. Police released surveillance video of the suspect, who wore a white thermal shirt, black athletic pants and Nike Air Jordans. He was accompanied by another man with dreadlocks and glasses.

Police said the pair left in a black Chevy Impala driven by a third man.
