INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 19, 2016) – An SUV crashed into a construction zone on the northeast side of Indianapolis Tuesday morning, striking two workers.

According to Indianapolis Metropolitan police, the driver suffered a medical condition, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a construction truck from E&B Paving that was being used as a barrier for the crew.  The crash happened at 82nd Street and Hague Road.

Police said the truck likely saved the worker’s lives. One worker was hit in the ribs; another suffered arm injuries. Both were sent to an area hospital but were expected to recover. The driver and his wife were also expected to be OK, police said.
