Deputies arrest 39 IU students for underage drinking after Bartholomew County party

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (April 13, 2016) – Police arrested nearly 40 IU students for underage drinking during a party in Bartholomew County Tuesday night.

According to the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy Sgt. Kris Weisner was dispatched to the home on W. Glen Lane at Grandview Lake around 10:25 p.m. Tuesday.

Weisner spoke with three 20-year-old girls who admitted they’d been drinking at the residence. Several other people also said they’d been drinking.

Two additional deputies arrived to assist Weisner. In the end, deputies arrested 39 people, all Indiana University students, on charges of illegal consumption.
