Female student assaulted while breaking up fight near University of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 10, 2016) – Officials with the University of Indianapolis say a female student was assaulted by two men near their campus early Sunday morning.

It happened sometime between midnight and 1:30 a.m.

Police say the two men got in a fight after an attending an off-campus party. The female student tried to break up the fight and was injured in the process. She was taken to Eskenazi Hospital.

According to a witness, the woman was walking back to her dorm by herself. The witness says they observed the men kicking and beating the woman.

Police arrived to the scene around 1:30 a.m. and arrested the two men.

Police are still investigating.
