Suspect sought after armed Kokomo bank robbery

KOKOMO, Ind. (April 6, 2016)– Police in Kokomo are searching for a bank robbery suspect.

The Kokomo Police Department said the robbery occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the Security Federal Savings bank located at 519 East Markland Avenue.

Police describe the suspect as a black male between 5’8″ – 6′, slender build, wearing dark clothing and sunglasses.

After he was asked to remove his sunglasses, the suspect displayed a weapon. He demanded money and fired a single shot into the floor.

He fled the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of money.  A customer inside the bank sustained a minor injury and was treated at the scene.
