Stapleton, Aldean shine during 51st Academy of Country Music Awards

(April, 4, 2016) – Jason Aldean took home the coveted entertainer of the year award at the Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night, and Chris Stapleton dominated the competition.

Wins for Stapleton included male vocalist of the year, album of the year, song of the year and new male vocalist of the year.

The awards, which aired right here on CBS4, were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Here’s the complete list of winners:

  • Entertainer of the year: Jason Aldean
  • Male vocalist of the year: Chris Stapleton
  • Female vocalist of the year: Miranda Lambert
  • Vocal duo of the year: Florida Georgia Line
  • Vocal group of the year: Little Big Town
  • Album of the year: Chris Stapleton, “Traveller”
  • Single record of the year: Thomas Rhett, “Die a Happy Man”
  • Song of the year: Chris Stapleton, “Nobody to Blame”
  • New male vocalist of the year: Chris Stapleton
  • New female vocalist of the year: Kelsea Ballerini
  • New vocal duo or group of the year: Old Dominion
  • Video of the year: Eric Church, “Mr. Misunderstood”
  • Vocal event of the year: Miranda Lambert and Little Big Town, “Smokin’ and Drinkin'”
