Arrest warrant issued for man suspected of killing motorcyclist in hit-and-run crash

Jesus Cardenas

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 29, 2016)– Police issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for a suspect charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on the northeast side.

Jesus Cardenas, 55, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing death.

Police say Cardenas fatally struck Maurice Hamler on March 21. Hamler was riding a motorcycle.

A vehicle believed to be linked to the incident was located near the scene of the crash. Police linked the car to Cardenas.

Cardenas is described as a Hispanic male, 5’6″, approximately 200 pounds. He may have fled to the Chicago area.

Anyone with information about Cardenas’ whereabouts is asked to call 911 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-TIPS.  All information shared with Crime Stoppers is considered anonymous.
