One person dead after shooting in Frankfort

FRANKFORT, Ind. (March 27, 2016) — Frankfort police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a woman. A suspect is now in custody.

At approximately 7 p.m. Saturday, units were dispatched to the 700 block of W. Green Street. Upon arrival, officers found a female dead inside a house from an apparent gun shot wound. Officers were also able to identify a suspect.

According to Chief Troy Bacon, “Officers were able to establish communications with the suspect. These communications resulted in the suspect peacefully exiting the residence. The suspect is currently being detained for questioning. This is very much an active investigation as detectives and crime scene investigators are processing the scene.”

Police are not releasing the identities of the suspect or victim at this time.
