A mild and breezy day for Easter. We will start the morning in the lower 40°s. With ample sunshine, temperatures should quickly rise, eventually topping out in the upper 60°s to lower 70°s. Winds will be out of the south at 10-18mph with a few gusts to 25mph.
Clouds will start increasing from the south during the early afternoon. A few isolated showers and/or a thunderstorm will be possible mainly south of Indianapolis.
By early evening, a line of thunderstorms is expected to develop along the Illinois/Indiana state line. The initial line will move east and could arrive in the Indianapolis metro after 7pm. Wind gusts 40-50mph could accompany thunderstorms embedded within the line.
A second wave of rain will follow, arriving in the Indianapolis metro between 10pm and midnight.
The Storm Prediction Center has indicated there is a “Slight Risk” for severe thunderstorms from south-central Indiana south to Kentucky. The main threat will be damaging winds with isolated thunderstorms.
Temperatures fall back for the start of the work-week, but not to worry as they fall back to near normal levels.
