Police locate family of man found fatally shot on city’s near west side

Update: Detectives have found Dwight White’s family, but still need help to find out what happened.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 26, 2016) – Indianapolis police are trying to find Dwight White’s next of kin after he was found fatally shot in an alley on Thursday.

According to dispatchers, White was found shot in the 2600 block of Annette Street around 8:20 a.m. by a person who was driving by the area. Emergency crews pronounced White dead at the scene.

Police say they believe the 54-year-old victim was homeless and they have not yet had any success locating his next of kin.

Detectives are requesting any family members that recognize the photo of White or anyone with information about this incident to contact IMPD at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Indiana at 317- 262-8477 (TIPS).
