Teen shot on city’s near northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind (March 26, 2016) — A teen was shot in the back on the city’s near northeast side Saturday afternoon, according to police.

The shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Dearborn Street and East 27th Street.

The victim is a 17-year-old male who suffered a single gunshot wound to his back.

Police tell us the teen is awake and breathing and in stable condition at Eskenazi Hospital.

An IMPD Aggravated Assault detective responded to the scene to further investigate.
