Police: Suspect robbed man at gunpoint, tried to use debit card at store

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 22, 2016) – Police are looking for a man who tried to make a purchase shortly after robbing a victim at gunpoint.

The suspect walked into a store in the 5300 block of W. Pike Plaza Road on Jan. 23 after robbing the victim at 3181 N. Watergate Rd. He tried using the victim’s debit card but was unable to complete the transaction, police said.

During the robbery, the suspect knocked a man to the ground and forced him to turn over his wallet. The man was also forced to give up his PIN. The suspect was carrying a black semiautomatic handgun, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, who may have been driving a gold car.
