PUTNUM COUNTY, Ind. (March 22, 2016)– State police seized 25 pounds of marijuana found during a traffic stop Tuesday.

Around 11:45 a.m., a trooper stopped a car for following too close on I-70 eastbound, near the 36 mile marker.

The trooper noticed several indicators that suggested criminal activity. The trooper requested a K-9 unit.

The Putnam County K-9 indicated that there were illegal drugs in the car. Twenty-five pounds of suspected high-grade marijuana was discovered in duffle bags. Police estimated the street value at $150,000.

State police said the suspects were traveling from Colorado to Virginia.

Kenny Pereyra, 22, and Anthony Bourdie, 26, both from Virginia, were arrested. They face felony charges of dealing marijuana over ten pounds and possession of marijuana over ten pounds.
