Two Grant County women killed in head-on Wabash County crash

WABASH COUNTY, Ind. (March 20, 2016)— Indiana State Police say a two vehicle crash late Saturday has claimed the lives of two Grant County women.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. on State Road 15, near Wabash County Road 900 south.

Investigators say an SUV driven by 27-year-old Emily J. Bowyer of Wabash County was traveling northbound on State Road 15 when for an unknown reason, traveled left of center.

Bowyer’s vehicle struck a southbound SUV head-on.

A passenger in the rear seat of the second vehicle, 69-year-old Barbara J. Dryer was pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger, 67-year-old Sharon K. Stephenson and the driver, 70-year-old Phillip Stephenson were transported to Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne.  Mrs. Stephenson died from her injuries Sunday morning.

Investigators say evidence at the scene indicates drugs may have been a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
