Police identify driver killed after crash on I-465
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 19, 2016) — Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal accident that left one person dead.
The crash, which involved a passenger vehicle and a semi truck, happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday near mile marker 12 on I-465 southbound.
When state troopers arrived, they found a 2013 Chrysler with an unresponsive woman inside. The woman, identified 28-year-old Chloe Knox of Indianapolis, was pronounced dead despite efforts to save her life.
Police said Knox had stopped the car in the right lane of I-465 and put it into park; the semi truck hit the back of the car. Police said it was unclear why Knox parked her car in the right lane.
The driver of the semi, Gurwinder Grewal of Canada, was not hurt, police said.
The right two lanes of I-465 were closed for more than four hours at the 12 mile marker while police investigated the crash.
