Man with gun arrested on IUPUI campus
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 19, 2016)—Metro Police arrested a man who allegedly threatened three teens Saturday evening near the IUPUI campus.
Around 6:20 p.m. police were called to the V.A. Hospital to help three teens who said they were threatened by a man with a gun.
The teens told officers they were walking east on Michigan Street near White River Parkway when they felt like they were being followed by a man.
When the group turned around to check, they say they saw a man pull out a gun.
The teens say they ran off and soon lost the man. They ran to the VA Hospital where they called police for help.
At nearly the same time, IUPUI Police officers were sent to a nearby area to investigate a man with a gun.
IUPUI officers located a man who matched the description and held him for investigation.
Officers made the connection that their suspect may be the same person in both police calls and the suspect was positively identified by the victims.
Police arrested 21-year-old Deon Taylor for felony level intimidation and he was taken to the Arrestee Processing Center.
