Indiana Pacers host blood drive
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 18, 2016) — The Indiana Blood Center is teaming up with the Indiana Pacers to host the annual Pacers Blood Drive this weekend.
This comes as the blood center warns about dangerously low inventory levels of “O” blood remaining. The agency blames spring break travel and the Zika virus for the shortage.
If you’d like to help build up the supply, the blood drive starts Saturday at 8 a.m. at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The blood drive continues Sunday at Congregation Shaarey Tefilla, 3085 West 116 Street, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The blood drive Saturday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse runs until 3 p.m. Participants will get complimentary tickets to the Pacers’ game against Brooklyn on April 10 while supplies last. Boomer and the Pacemates will also be at Bankers Life. Parking is free at the Virginia Avenue garage.
