INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 19, 2016)–The life of a live mascot can be pretty demanding throughout the March college basketball tournament season.

In addition to his busy schedule for public appearances in support of his Butler basketball team, Blue III and Butler University have partnered with “Be the Match” national bone marrow registry.

In his Tweets, Blue III, who fancies himself to be a bone expert, is asking donors to help honor the late Andrew Smith and help save 44 lives.

Smith who wore #44 during his Butler basketball career died in January after his two year battle with cancer.
