Today will be the pick day of the week with dry, mild and breezy conditions through the afternoon with highs in the 70s. Our weather will become more active tonight. Indianapolis has been taken out of the SLIGHT risk from the Storm Prediction Center. The best chance for severe storms tonight will be north of Indy. This shouldn't be a widespread severe weather outbreak, but isolated severe storms will be possible.
Here's the timeline. Storms will be west of Indy before 11 p.m. They'll arrive in the metro area between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. and then continue moving eastward. Our primary threats if storms do becomes severe would be damaging wind gusts in excess of 58 mph and large hail.
Temperatures will really cool off for the second half of the week. Wednesday and Thursday will be very windy with gusts to 40 mph+. Colder air moves in this weekend and a few wet snowflakes could mix in with rain showers by Saturday/Sunday.
