Update (March 22, 2016)– Dustin Dykes was sentenced to seven years. Six will be served at the Indiana Department of Correction. One year of his sentence is suspended. He must also register as a sex offender.

Original story:

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (March 15, 2016) – A Columbus man is accused of recording video of himself engaging in sex acts with a minor.

Dustin Tyler Dykes, 25, is charged with possession of child pornography and child exploitation, according to the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office. Dykes was arrested last week.

The investigation began after a woman came forward and told police she’d participated in the video, which also included a girl who was 15 or 16 years old at the time, according to court documents. The video was made at a Franklin home in 2013 or 2014.

The woman told police that Dykes still had the recording on his computer and was showing it to other people, according to court documents. During the investigation, police spoke to another woman who said Dykes had told her about the video.

Police recovered a computer containing the recording that showed Dykes engaging in sex acts with two women.

Dykes was previously charged in connection with a child molestation case in Franklin from 2013. That case is still pending.

Dykes was taken to the Johnson County Jail after his arrest.
