HENRY COUNTY, Ind. (March 15, 2016) – A Henry County man is facing charges after an altercation with his neighbors. Deputies say he threatened to blow up their homes, and he pointed a gun at a juvenile.

Russell Guffey, 62, was charged with pointing a firearm and two counts of intimidation, according to Henry Circuit Court documents.

Deputies were then called to the 1900 block of West County Road 100 South around 11:45 p.m.

One of Guffey’s neighbors told deputies that he threatened to blow up her home and her neighbors’ homes. Another neighbor told deputies that Guffey pointed a gun at her son.

When authorities addressed Guffey, they say he appeared to be intoxicated. Guffey told deputies that the neighbors had been spraying windows on his home with chemicals.

When deputies asked Guffey about pointing the gun, he told them he couldn’t have a gun. Deputies then asked to enter Guffey’s home to look for a gun, and he allowed them. After entering the home, deputies say Guffey became defensive and told them to get out until they have a warrant.

At that time, the deputies exited Guffey’s home and called the deputy prosecutor. The prosecutor advised the deputies on the scene to charge Guffey with intimidation and pointing a firearm. Deputies then arrested him.
