Lebanon police investigate stabbing of 19-year-old man

LEBANON, Ind. (March 13, 2016) — The Lebanon Police Department and the Boone County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing that left a 19-year-old injured.

The stabbing happened around 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of West South Street in Lebanon.

According to police, when officers arrived they found Nicholas G. Bishop, 19, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest.  He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  Authorities say his injuries were life-threatening.

About two hours after the initial incident, officers took a juvenile suspect into custody.  The suspect is being held in the juvenile detention center pending the filing of formal charges.

This is an on-going investigation.
