MIAMI, Fla. (March 8, 2016) – Incredible new video shows the moment a driver lost control of his garbage truck, which then fell 100 feet into a park.

The crash happened Feb. 15 on Interstate 95 in Miami. The driver, Kaseem Smith, overcorrected as he veered right. The truck went through a guardrail and ended up in the parking lot of Jose Marti Park.

The Florida Highway Patrol released dashcam video of the crash this week

Smith was ejected from the truck as it fell but managed to survive. He’s recently been released from the hospital.

“How did he survive that accident? I mean, he fell 75 feet, he was ejected from the truck, and the video clearly shows it, and still he survived,” Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez told WPLG.

No one else was hurt during the incident, although the crash damaged two vehicles in the parking lot.
