WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 8, 2016) – Indiana Senators Dan Coats and Joe Donnelly will meet with executives from Carrier in Washington Tuesday to discuss the company’s plans to move jobs from Indiana to Mexico.

The move will affect about 2,100 jobs in Indianapolis and Huntington. Coats, a Republican, and Donnelly, a Democrat, are the latest Indiana officials to meet with the company.

Last week, Gov. Mike Pence held a meeting with Carrier executives; the company promised to keep 400 research and development jobs in Indiana. Carrier also said it would pay the state and city back for training grants and tax incentives.

Carrier first announced its plans to move to Mexico last month. The transition would begin next year and wrap up in 2019.
