INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (March 7, 2016) The Indianapolis Colts announced on Monday they released quarterback Josh Freeman. This means Andrew Luck’s backup spot is now vacant.

Freeman was signed by the Colts as a free agent on December 29, 2015. He started in the season finale against the Tennessee Titans and completed 15-of-28 passes for 149 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Freeman has played in 62 career NFL games (61 starts) and completed 1,179-of-2,048 passes for 13,873 yards with 81 touchdowns and 68 interceptions.
