INDIANAPOLIS (March 7, 2016) — Dwayne Allen isn’t going anywhere.  The Colts re-signed the tight end Monday night, keeping him in the same uniform he’s worn since his college days at Clemson.  Allen’s new contract is reportedly worth $29.4 million over four-years.

“From Jim Irsay and his family on down, we are very pleased to announce the re-signing of Dwayne Allen,” said Colts GM Ryan Grigson in a statement.  “Besides the broad skill set and overall talent level he brings, Dwayne’s tenacity and physicality has always been what has set him apart from the beginning.  His genuine love for the people of this community, its fans and for the game of football is what makes him special,” Grigson added.

A year after catching eight touchdown passes, Allen caught just one this past season.  His numbers of 13 receptions and 109 yards set new career lows for a season in which he didn’t miss significant time due to injury, but that was due in large part to the Colts asking him to help in pass protection.

Over a four-year career, the 26-year-old has 91 catches for 1,045 yards and 13 TD’s.
