Enjoy today, because we have rain, storms and accumulating snow coming
Today will be the pick day of the work week with a mostly sunny sky this afternoon and temperatures running about 10 degrees above average. Highs will get well into the 50s across all of Central Indiana today. Our average high is only 45.
Overnight clouds will start to increase. By the mid-am hours on Tuesday rain showers will develop. There is a SLIGHT risk for most of Tennessee , Kentucky & Southern Indiana. Bedford & Seymour are on the cusp of that slight risk on Tuesday. Nonetheless, we could see a couple of strong storms & heavy downpours on Tuesday. Overall, we’ll see 0.25″ to 0.5″ before we change over to light snow by Tuesday evening. We’ll see that transition to snow happen from NW to SE across the area. Most of the precipitation will have turned over to snow by 6pm Tuesday. Since we’ll change to snow north of Indy first, we’ll see a little more accumulation there.
We’ll have another chance for accumulating snow on Thursday into Friday AM. Temperatures begin to go back up in time for the weekend.
