MUNCIE, Ind. (Feb. 25, 2016) – A Michigan man wanted in connection with a weekend shooting in Kalamazoo was arrested in Muncie Wednesday.
Victory Peery, 22, shot the woman around 11:20 p.m. Sunday, according to Kalamazoo Public Safety officials. He then fled.
Investigators received several tips about Peery’s whereabouts and eventually tracked him to a family member’s home in Muncie. Muncie police conducted surveillance on the home and obtained a search warrant.
After the SWAT team arrived, Peery and others inside complied with orders to leave and were taken into custody around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Preliminary charges against him include assault with intent to murder, felonious assault, felon in possession of a firearm and domestic assault.
Police seized drugs and guns from the home. Two other people inside with Peery were also arrested.
