Former central Indiana recruiter for Marine Corps sentenced in rape case

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. (Feb. 25, 2016)– A former central Indiana Marine Corps recruiter was sentenced Thursday for raping an 18-year-old applicant.

Johnathan Bean, 26, pleaded guilty to rape as a level 3 felony.

He was sentenced to six years. Two years are to be spent in jail and the rest of the sentence will be suspended, meaning he will be on probation.

Bean has been at the Hancock County jail since last March after admitting to the rape.
