Extra law enforcement presence at Anderson University after bomb threat
ANDERSON, Ind. (Feb. 25, 2016) — Search teams arrived at Anderson University Thursday in response to a bomb threat that university officials don’t believe is credible.
The university received the threat via email Thursday morning and said it didn’t specifically name any group or building as the focus. Regardless, the university notified Anderson University police, Anderson police and the FBI. The college also activated its “Raven Alert System” to notify students and staff. Messages went out via text, email and phone.
According to the alert, AU received the following message:
There is a bomb on campus
No classes were canceled as a result of the threat, and the academic schedule will proceed as normal. The university informed students and staff that there would be law enforcement on campus, including a bomb-sniffing K-9, as a precaution.
