Heavy rain changes to accumulating snow

All of Central Indiana will fall within the band of 1-2″ of rain prior to the change over to snow. Temperatures will begin to fall after lunch time today and the wind will begin to kick up.  Wind gusts will be over 40 mph at times, which will significantly reduce visibilities at times…especially this evening and overnight once the snow arrives.

Here is the timeline for the rain changing over to snow across Central Indiana today.

Bottom Line1

We have Blizzard Warnings, Winter Storm Warnings & Winter Weather Advisories in place.  There will be whiteout conditions in NW Indiana where the Blizzard Warnings are present with high winds and higher snow totals. 1-3″ is expected in Indy and more to the north of the city.
