Man dies after single vehicle crash in Grant County

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (February 23, 2016) – Police say a single vehicle accident left one dead Monday night.

Just after 6:00 PM police were dispatched to S.R. 26 and C.R. 275 East on reports of a crash.

Witnesses say they observed 41-year-old, Joseph Bryd’s, 2014 White Toyota Corolla traveling at a high rate of speed. They say he did not stop or slow down at the intersection. According to them the vehicle went airborne, nearly striking them.

He continued east on CR 275. The Corolla then left the roadway, overturning two times and ejecting the driver. The vehicle came to rest in a field just south of S.R. 26.

Joseph Bryd was pronounced dead on the scene.

The accident is under further investigation. No other injuries were reported.
