Winter Storm Warning issued for parts of central Indiana

Here’s the latest update from the National Weather Service: A strong storm system will move through the Ohio Valley tonight through Thursday, bringing rain and then snow, along with winds of 30-40 mph, to central Indiana. Heavy rain is possible late tonight into Wednesday morning across southern parts of central Indiana that could lead to minor flooding. Rain will change to a mix with sleet and snow before changing over to all snow from the northwest to the southeast through the day on Wednesday. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect Wednesday morning through Thursday afternoon for northwest parts of central Indiana where the heaviest snow is expected. Stay informed as a shift in the track of the low could change expected snowfall amounts.


Heavy rain along the gulf coast will move northward overnight.


A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4pm Wednesday until 1pm Thursday.


A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 10am Wednesday through 1 pm Thursday.


Heavy rain and gusty winds are likely on Wednesday, followed by snow on Thursday.


Rain will change to a rain/sleet/snow mix before changing completely to snow.
