INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Feb. 19, 2016)— We’re not the only ones excited about this 60 degree February day! For the first time since they were born, three African lion cubs at the Indianapolis Zoo got to go outside, and the photos are great.

The three 5-month-old cubs — males Enzi and Mashaka, and female Sukari — got to explore the outdoors for several hours with their mother, Zuri.

“She is playful and caring, and kept a watchful eye on her youngsters as they romped around in their new outdoor environment,” said zoo officials about the first-time mother.

Zoo visitors will have the chance to see the cubs this weekend if weather permits. Temperatures could reach a high of 65 degrees Saturday, so fingers crossed!
