St. Vincent Indianapolis Trauma Center receives Level I Trauma Verification

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (February 17, 2016) – Indianapolis’ only north side trauma center has received the highest recognition level available.

Officials at St. Vincent Indianapolis announced today that the hospital’s trauma center has been verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) as a Level I Trauma Center. The ACS verification confirms that the hospital is equipped for and capable of providing the highest level of care for patients with the most serious injuries.

It is now the third verified adult Level I Trauma Center in Indiana. Additionally, St. Vincent’s trauma center is the second busiest trauma center in the state.

“Today’s announcement is an important step for the state of Indiana and a central part of our statewide St. Vincent strategy to improve access to high-quality care for all Hoosiers,” said Jonathan Nalli, CEO, St. Vincent.
