Ball State student charged with intimidation following suspicious package investigation
MUNCIE, Ind. (February 17, 2016) –Police arrested a Ball State student Wednesday following a suspicious package investigation.
Around 2 p.m. the Ball State Student Center was evacuated after a report that someone dropped off a suspicious package.
A campus wide alert was sent to the Ball State community, and the “all-clear” was given around 3:30 p.m. University police Chief James Duckham said the contents of the package did not pose a safety threat.
Jackson Hiatt, 21, was arrested shortly later and charged with intimidation, said Duckham, who added that the matter remains under investigation.
