Early morning shooting leaves victim in hospital

INDIANAPOLIS (February 15, 2016) – One person is in the hospital after a shooting on Indy’s east side early Monday morning.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call about a person shot in the 700 block of S Butler Avenue shortly after 3 a.m.

When they arrived on scene, officers say they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police say the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Aggravated Assault detectives are handling the case and have not released any suspect information at this time.

Anyone with information about this shooting is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
