CLERMONT, Ind. (February 10, 2016) – A 3-year-old Border Collie is happy to be back with her owners thanks to the Wayne Township Fire Department.

Crews were called to the 8700 block of West 30th Street last Wednesday on a report of a trapped dog. When they arrived, they made contact with a man and a woman who said their dog Misty ran into a long drainage pipe and then got trapped in an eight-foot deep concrete drainage culvert.

Police Officers from IMPD and Clermont comforted the owners and kept voice contact with the dog until the fire department arrived.

Wayne Township crews utilized an extendable rope snare used to rescue animals and get hold of Misty.

Once they had the loop around her they pulled her to the surface. The dog was uninjured and happy to be back with her owners.
