Woman accused of trying to smuggle meth, heroin to inmate at Putnamville Correctional Facility

GREENCASTLE, Ind. (Feb. 4, 2016) – A woman was arrested after officials at Putnamville Correctional Facility said she tried to smuggle drugs to an inmate.

Adell Mabry, 39, Indianapolis, was visiting Dennis Bretzlaff when she was found with six small packages of what appeared to be methamphetamine and heroin. A correctional police officer arrested her on charges of engaging in trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.

Mabry was booked into the Putnam County Jail. The case has been turned over to the Putnam County Prosecutor’s Office.

Bretzlaff is serving a 912-day sentence for burglary and a 180-day sentence for escape, according to jail officials. He’s due for release on Aug. 19, 2016, and will stay in a restricted housing until the investigation is complete.
