New Jersey teen arrested for online threat at Indiana school
NEW ALBANY, Ind. (January 19, 2016) — Police say a 17-year-old New Jersey youth has been extradited to southern Indiana to face prosecution over a threat directed against a school on Facebook.
WHAS-TV and WDRB-TV reported Tuesday that the New Albany Police Department said the youth from Hackensack, New Jersey, was extradited to New Albany over the weekend in connection with a threat against New Albany High School last year.
The youth’s arrest on a petition of delinquency follows an investigation lasting more than four months. NewAlbany Police Chief Todd Bailey says his department was assisted by the U.S. Secret Service and the FBI.
The case has been assigned to Floyd County Circuit Court.
