Firefighters stop to help homeless man, give him shoes and water

RIVERSIDE, CA (January 19, 2016) – A Facebook post with pictures of a firefighter giving a homeless man his shoes is going viral.

According to the City of Riverside Fire Department, a group of firefighters was returning from training in California when they saw a homeless man walking barefoot on the side of the road.

Engine 6 pulled over to stop the man. Firefighter David Gilstrap offered the man the shoes off his feet, and Captain Rob Gabler assisted the man with putting the shoes on and offered him some water.
