Columbus fight involving shovel, sword ends in woman’s arrest
COLUMBUS, Ind. (Jan. 18, 2016) – Columbus police arrested a woman after a Sunday afternoon altercation involving a shovel and a sword.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of 9th Street around 1 p.m. Sunday in response to a fight. Officers spoke with residents at the home, who told them Audrey C. Davis, 18, forced her way inside after being told to leave.
Witnesses said Davis grabbed a shovel and pushed her way into the home. Someone inside then went to get a sword to use for protection and managed to get Davis to go outside. Once Davis left the home, police said she used the shovel to break several windows on a vehicle owned by one of the residents.
She was taken into custody on a charge of residential entry and transported to the Bartholomew County Jail.
