(January 17, 2016) – Trader Joe’s has issued a recall of raw cashew pieces over salmonella concerns.

The grocery store chain posted this statement to their website on Friday:

We have been alerted by our supplier of Trader Joe’s Raw Cashew Pieces (barcode number 00505154) that there is a possibility that one specific lot with the following code may be contaminated with Salmonella: “BEST BEFORE 07.17.2016TF4”

The cashew pieces were distributed in 30 states, including Indiana.

Trader Joe’s says they have removed the cashews from store shelves, and the sale of cashew pieces has been suspended while they investigate.

No illnesses have been reported.

If you purchased the cashew pieces, return the product to the store and Trader Joe’s will issue a full refund. If you have any questions, you may call Trader Joe’s Customer Relations at 626-599-3817.
