Still going up: Powerball jackpot soars to $1.5 billion

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 12, 2016) — Another day of strong tickets sales around the nation led to another increase in the Powerball jackpot, which has surged to $1.5 billion.

What’s already the largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history is now $100 million higher. The cash value is $930 million.

Powerball tickets are available at more than 4,400 retailers around the Hoosier State. Tickets cost $2, and the odds of winning are 1 in 292 million. Wednesday’s drawing airs live on our sister station, FOX59, Wednesday night.
