INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Jan. 12, 2016)– A 4-year-old boy, who was found inside a stolen vehicle Tuesday night on the city’s Eastside, has been reunited with his mother, police told our partners at the IndyStar.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the Phillips 66 gas station near the intersection of 25th Street and North Sherman Drive about 9:21 p.m. on a report of a stolen vehicle.

When officers arrived at the gas station, they located the vehicle and a 4-year-old boy alone inside. The child, police said, was unharmed.

Police said the suspect abandoned the vehicle behind the gas station with the uninjured child. “(We) are currently working to obtain a reliable suspect description,” said IMPD spokesman Sgt. Kendale Adams.

The car belongs to the boy’s mother, police said. The two were reunited shortly after police found the car.
