Janet Jackson postpones Unbreakable Tour and concert in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. ( December 25, 2015) — Indiana native and singing sensation Janet Jackson has postponed her Unbreakable Tour. The 49-year-old made the announcement that she is to undergo surgery but would not explain what the medical procedure was for, asking fans to respect her privacy on the matter. She announced the postponement of her world tour on Twitter Thursday afternoon. The early part of the tour was to have a stop in Indianapolis on January 29, 2016.

Thursday afternoon on Twitter  Jackson wrote, “Hey you guys… Happy Holidays to each and every one of you. I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. 

‘It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the Unbreakable Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled.’ 

‘Please hold on to your tickets,’ she added. ‘They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced. Please pray for me, my family and our entire company during this difficult time.’

Jackson revealed that she is to undergo surgery but would not explain what the medical procedure was for, asking fans to respect her privacy on the matter.

Unbreakable is her eleventh studio album and the first after the death of her pop star brother Michael Jackson in 2009 .

‘There will be no further comment,’ the pop star continued. ‘I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understanding and your love. Gon’ b alright.’

The album topped the Billboard 200 chart in October, giving her a seventh No. 1 album and making her only the third musician to achieve a chart-topping record in each of the past four decades.

The only other artists to score a chart-topping record in each of the past four decades are Barbra Streisand and Bruce Springsteen.
