Interstate ramp closed by crash on northwest side reopens

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 20, 2015)–An interstate ramp has reopened following a crash on the city’s northwest side Sunday.

Shortly after 4:00 p.m. emergency crews were called to the ramp from southbound Interstate 465 to Interstate 65 South on the report of a semi and trailer on its side with the driver trapped inside.

Pike Township firefighters and rescue crews were able to free the woman driver who was taken to an area hospital.

Indiana State Police are investigating what led up to the crash.

The ramp was closed several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
