INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Dec. 14, 2015)– Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee is known not only for being one of the best punters in the league, but for being a charitable man in the community.

So, it’s no surprise he paid the electricity bills for dozens of Indianapolis Power & Light Company customers.

IPL tweeted the news Saturday:

According to Greg Doyel with the IndyStar, an IPL source reported McAfee said he wanted to cover the costs for an hour from the “pay in person” line. The busiest hour of that line is reportedly late Friday afternoon, so any IPL customer who came through the line from 4-5 p.m. had their bill paid.

McAfee reportedly spent a little more than $18,000.

The star punter later tweeted he was just trying to make the world a happier place.
