INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (December 12, 2015) — Temperatures may be in the 60’s, but St Vincent Hospital is planning ahead to colder days by giving away bags of salt for free to Indianapolis residents.

Volunteers will start bagging the salt Saturday morning, and the public will be able to pick up their free bags starting at noon.

The bags will be available at St Vincent Hospital on 2001 W 86th Street near Entrance 5. Residents will be able to take up to six free bags of salt.

The giveaway is part of the 23rd annual ERASE (Emergency Room Advice, Safety and Education) salt bagging project. The project is designed to benefit older adult adults who are more vulnerable during the winter season.
