ANDERSON, Ind. (Dec. 9, 2015)– A reserve Markleville police officer was arrested Wednesday after a stolen Jonesboro Police Department was found on his vehicle.
On Dec. 2, Jonesboro Police Chief Dennis Conrad contacted Pendleton police to report a license plate had been stolen from a locked cabinet.
Police learned that the plate had been seen on the personal car of Dion L. Poole, 23, of Anderson. Poole had been a reserve Jonesboro police officer April to June 2015. He was terminated in June and hired later as a Markleville reserve officer.
Police found Poole Wednesday night around 7:45 p.m. as he pulled into a Waffle House. The stolen plate was on his car, a black 2009 Dodge Charger, underneath his correct license place.
Poole was wearing his Markleville Police Department uniform when he was arrested.
He was taken to the Madison County Jail charged with possession of stolen property, a class “A” misdemeanor. More charges are possible as detectives continue to investigate.
